60's and 70's-bring it back

The hippie subculture was originally a youth movement that began in the United States during the early 1960s and spread around the world. The word hippie derives from hipster, and was initially used to describe beatniks who had moved into San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district. These people inherited the counter cultural values of the Beat Generation, created their own communities, listened to psychedelic rock, embraced the sexual revolution, and used drugs such as cannabis and LSD to explore alternative states of consciousness.

Woman is the Nigger of the World

This song was written in 1972. The words still ring true to this day and will probably do so for centuries to come. It's a shame how women are displayed in the media. Turn on your TV, scroll online, flip a magazine and what will you find? A woman being portrayed as something less than what she truly is, a perfect being that gives life.

Woman is the Nigger of the World
John Lennon

Woman is the nigger of the world
Yes she is...think about it
Woman is the nigger of the world
Think about it...do something about it

We make her paint her face and dance
If she won’t be slave, we say that she don’t love us
If she’s real, we say she’s trying to be a man
While putting her down we pretend that she is above us

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don’t believe me take a look to the one you’re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Ah yeah...better scream about it

We make her bear and raise our children
And then we leave her flat for being a fat old mother then
We tell her home is the only place she would be
Then we complain that she’s too unworldly to be our friend

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don’t believe me take a look to the one you’re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Yeah (think about it)

We insult her everyday on TV
And wonder why she has no guts or confidence
When she’s young we kill her will to be free
While telling her not to be so smart we put her down for being so dumb

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don’t believe me take a look to the one you’re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Yes she is...if you believe me, you better scream about it.

We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance

Page by Page, Day by Day

She reads the pages clouded in her memory
Trying to fight the fear
Lost all fear of notice ability
Wish, wash one second
Calm and collected the next
Grab a pen or brush and try to express
The best time to do so, when scattered thoughts are just that
Scattered
Not feeling like reading, studying or TV
So, I grab a pen and pad
It's the only way to free me
Might start one day and finish the next
But that may be the only way to get respect
Don't rush excellence
Rather be patient
Practically the only way to make it
this day and age
How'd we get so far
When she only flipped the page

Trainfree

I want to be free from you and me
I want to be happy
It seems that most are the opposite
Posing fake roles to gain acceptance
Escaping is easy
Try facing reality for once
Smoking pot to kill time
Literally
I need to be free
Let’s ride a train together
Let’s escape reality without lack of morality
Let’s be responsible
Until the job is done
Than we can slack off
And have some fun
But, for now all I have is this ride
Simple and cheap
Yet, it does the trick
Forget all your problems with an “all aboard”
Are we there?
I don’t want to get off yet
Change is something that is not accepted
Unchanging is an uncomfortable comfort that most seek out
I don’t want to follow the crowd
I want to break all conformity's
Fuck categories, I defy those
Innocence lost at such a young age
Deteriorating feelings towards another lost soul
Only basing opinions of one an others actions
Words don't amaze or comfort me
They disgust me
Lying to my face does no justice
There is no justice
Just us...

Happy President's Day

I am finally realizing that reaching your dreams is not as easy as it seems. It feels good to accomplish goals and get things done, however this day and age you pretty much have to purchase your dreams in order for them to become reality. You have to purchase your life and your future in order to feel accomplished. Patience seems like a menial task when time starts to pass rapidly. Making big decisions always seems to conflict with money. Important things go down the drain because people are infatuated with having a fat bankroll. How can the life of our country be in the hands of one sickening mind? Thank goodness for the inauguration of Obama. That just gives light to the fact that there is some hope to this country's future.

2008, the end of an error...

Hopeless and Voiceless

Voice for the voiceless
Hope for the hopeless
Can we get a little hope for the voiceless
So they can have a voice; they'll wait patiently
While I speak for them
In the meantime
My voice is cracking
In between time
I can't speak anymore
I really hope the hopeless get a voice
At least one word
That's all they really need
A chance to tell their story
Cause everyone has a story to tell
Even the invisible, famished ones
Covering dark alleyways and corners
Those who walk in silence have the most to say
Sick of the day
Sleep it off or find a means to escape
We be shootin' H or more socialized ways
AA advocates with their paper bags
One day clean
One month clean
Get your key chains y'all
So where do we stay?
No place to run away
You run from yourself
That's how we got here in the first place
What a shame?

Seeing Again

How did we all become so blind?
Blind to the media, that is over saturated with bullshit
Blind to the politics, that are run by confusion
Blind to the never ending war with ourselves and the world
Blind to the hunger, from the city streets to the third world countries
Blind to the greed, which is prevalent in you and me
Blind to the famine, which is occurring as we speak
Blind to the violence, which is at a rising high
Blind to the love that is given and received
Blind to the beauty that is hidden underneath
Only seeing what you want
Revealing nothing but untruth
When we will all wake up?
